If this is your first time, you have to do a Bob Marley. everytime we go we make all the newbies do a Bob Marley shot. The dirty bannana's and hummingbird's are good weak drinks. If you want something to knock you socks off....try a rum runner.

A Salty Dog is just the ticket for a change of pace from all of the sweet drinks!

Try the Ting with Vodka - Yummy.

    Red - grenadine
Yellow - grand marnier or banana liquer (depends on the bartender)
    Green - creme de menthe
    clear - 151 proof rum

Tastes like gasoline so make sure you have a chaser!

Reading is fundamental. It's just that for some, it's more mental than fun.

    Double Appleton & Gingerbeer.
*note I said Gingerbeer - not ginger ale , you want the bottled jamaican gingerbeer.
*note 2 - dont drink the gingerbeer alone...not good by itself, but great with Appleton Rum!

Try it. It is distinct and will provide an amazing taste memory. I actually imported some of the gingerbeer to mix with my Appleton (already availble in the states)

just to add so people understand it is a layered shot sucked bottom up through a straw so your first taste is the grenadine then on to the bananna or grand followed by cream then bam 151 fire in the tummy and everything else it hits!! Chaser recomended as stated above:0

I *love* GingerBeer!! (without rum) Is it readily available at CTI? I used to work for a Jamaican family, and I really miss the gingerbeer, patties, and fried plantain they used to feed me.

I am reading this thread at work and really want to be anywhere but here (preferable somewhere warm, not northern Indiana) drinking any of these drinks!!!!!! I am down to about 150 days until CTI though)))

I would have to disagree with jayrayuf. I don't think the drinks are watered down. A drink made with rum and a drink made with 151 proof will have totally different affects.

For the OP, I LOVE LOVE hummingbirds. I don't drink to get drunk so this was my favorite drink!!!

As a former bartender and well surviving college, LOL I am suprised it still tastes bad with all that to cover up the 151....hmmm maybe i'll have to try one when down there. I will procede with caution. LOL Besides it cannot be any worse than a three wise men... iiiiick

You can also get a "Roof" on anything, which is an extra shot of liquor down the straw and on the top.

I looked a 'Dirty Banana' up on the internet last night.

1oz ea Creme de Cacao, Creme de Banana, Khaluha and two scoops ice cream, six ice cubes.

Blend together. Nice but a tad sweet for me.
