CTI Island
Has anyone actually gone into the water at what’s called the “very small beach” on the island at CTI? Is it deep? Rocky? Unsafe if don’t swim well? Read that the pool is small? Looking for 2020. Just got back from great CN stay.

We didn't go in the water at the island, although a few did but didn't swim. It looked somewhat rocky. We were in the pool, that's where all the fun is.

Yes we went into the water. It is great. Take water shoes with you. Water is not overly deep, numerous rocks, so pay attention. Not unsafe if you dont swim. We enjoy it!

We just returned and we certainly went into the water. While we were there, the sand was very nice and a little bigger than usual. The waves on the side of the island looking out to the ocean, intimidate me. The water on the side of the island that faces the resort was very calm and enjoyable. I snorkeled there daily...it is generally not very deep, but you might want to have water shoes....lots of sea grass. later in the day, tend to pick up but there was never anything that worried us.
Yes, the swim up pool on the island is small but we never saw it crowded.Gene and Jeanne

Yes we have. The water is great the way it comes around the island. Take water shoes though, the floor has rocks in some places. Some areas are sandy, some with smooth rocks, some with larger rocks. You need to pay attention what is around you. It is a part of the resort though that not enough people enjoy. Currents are not strong, and it is a great place to go and spend time together. Water is not deep just pay attention where you are.

We recently returned. During our stay, the side of the island facing the hotel had a very nice little beach on both sides of the pier. Water was nice and not very deep. We, and several others, spent a lot of time in the ocean. I personally would never enter the water on the other side of the island....very rocky with waves.
The small beach changes with the storms and tides....never know what to expect.
Have fun!Gene and Jeanne

The water gets about waist deep. There are a few rocks mostly around the bottom of the stairs. Once you get past that it gets sandier. Not a great place to really swim, but great to float around on you lounger pad. It is a good place to snorkel naked. You just have to bring your own gear. (You can only use the resorts equipment on the scheduled trips).

There was a staircase which went down to the water on the right side of the island (as you face it from the hotel). Some rocks and then a pretty clear area. We wore water shoes in that section though. It was waist high and you could technically swim, but its not like swimming at negril or ssb. Some folks snorkle around as well.

Thank all of you that posted here about CTI little beach/water. We didn’t go in 2020. I’ve been dreaming about another trip to a Couples Resort. May go back to CSS or Negril, or both if we can do a long stay in 2021. Hoping everyone will be able to be able to have safe trips soon.
