We were unable to come back this year but we are making up for it with a longer stay 10/2-10/12

We hope to to see all of our new friends at the 2nd annual Massachusetts Couples party in March

Based on this "we" are the newbies - any pointers from the veteran group? This is our first trip to Couples - and at the moment this trip is a complete surprise to Frank he doesn't have a clue this is where we are going - I just love surprises! Dawn

hello, as we will be on our honeymoon from the 10th - 17th of october and i cant wait to get to CN as i have been dreaming for 3 years ....

My wife and I will be there on 10/11 - 10/18. This will be our first trip to Jamaica and it will be our honeymoon. (wedding is 10/8/10) She is planning the wedding and I get to plan this trip. Not sure what I am more excited for (oh come on, the trip of course.. haha)

Is there anything specific you wanted to know?
Things I love to do....
1- Take LOTS of pictures
2- Walk the paths, and enjoy the wildlife.
3- Lay in the hammocks
4- Listen to the waves, hear the laughter.
5- Talk to the staff. They are full of information about the resort and Jamaica.
6- Meet new people. I met my (now) best friend on the message board (March 2007) & met in person for the first time @ CN October 2007, and have vacationed with her every year since. (Some people like to keep to themselves… Nothing wrong with that... Nothing at all!)
7- After dinner, take a walk around the resort and if it’s a clear night, look up at the sky. Sit in the swings for a few minutes right off to the side of the lobby.
8-Find the game room, and have some fresh popped, pop corn. It’s a hidden secret. Don’t tell!
I could go on and on! Like I said, if there is anything specific just ask… I would be more than happy to pass along my experience.

Nothing specific I need to know - have you ever set up any off site excursions that I should know about? What are the must do's at CN? We love the sun, and the hammocks sound like heaven we are very easy going couple so we are up for just about anything. As for dress code; do men need to have a sports coat at all? or just a collared shirt? I have been thinking that the packing part of this will be very similar to what I would take on a cruise (which I do frequently) this is my first all inclusive resort and I am very excited. Dawn

The first year we went (Oct 2006) we did go to Margaritaville. Nice experience, but we have not gone back since. I bet somebody has gone on an off-site trip, and could make a recommendation for you.
Last year was the first time we went on the Catamaran Cruise, now that was fun... It was very cool to jump or slide off the side and swim up to the caves.
My finace dives twice a day(I do not dive!) I usually go snorkeling while he is out on his morning dive. Then again in the afternoon.
I would suggest taking the resort orientation, it doesnt take very long at all.
The only place that has a true "dress-code" is Otaheite. Men need to wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Button up shirt(no tie). No sports coat is required. I usually wear a dress everynight to dinner (no mater where we go). My fiance wears a nice pair of shorts and a nice shirt to dinner every night.
You will hear mixed reviews on how much you need to pack. Some will say pack light, I say pack what "you" are going to need, and if thats packing heavy then do it. I cannot stand to wear wet clothing, unless I'm in the water. So I tend to bring 6-8 pair of (for our 10-11 night stay) cotton shorts, and tank tops to match to throw on when Im not in the water. I also have about 15 swimsuits I bring. so I have a new one everyday, and I can change out of a wet one if I want to. This is just my opinion.

hell again, well since i dint mention it before Reed and I (Getta) will be on our first trip to CN and our first trip to Jamaica.... on our honeymoon. so very excited, i can hardly wait (we will be 41 and 43 by then)

since you have been there a few times in october, can you tell me what to expect weather wise...thanks so much!

Atlantic-

As it is hurricane Season, you take the risk so we always buy the insurance.

That said, only 1 trip did we have rain for 2 straight days. If you look at the weather report there is always a chance of rain, sometimes it doesn't rain, sometimes for 15 minutes to an hour and the sun is back out. No worries!

Usually, it is high 80's to low 90's

For us, it is are favorite time to visit. We have also been in January and March- pretty much the same thing.
