    Default Website

I wanted to put this in a separate post because I don't know if it will be seen in the other post since it is so old.

Regarding the website and marketing materials:

I would like to requests pictures of guests be more realistic of who the clientele is. We are not all 20 somethings with perfect bodies. Many of us past the perfect body stage long ago as well as 20 years old. Would it be possible to put new pictures on the website and in the brochures that show guests 50+ years old and perhaps not so perfect bodies? I think it would give a clearer more realistic picture of who enjoys your resorts. I know some people are turned off because they think the place is for the younger crowd set by looking at the pictures. Your competition has older couples in their marketing campaigns. Perhaps still in perfect body shapes, but at least they show older guest.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Very good point. I agree.

Maybe they show young people to show them that it isn't just a bunch of old fogies at the Couples resorts. And I am 54, you can decide if i am an old fogie or not.

I'm chubby, bearded, mid 30s, and would volunteer. There can be a picture of me asleep at teh disco, carrying 2 plates of cheese fries with jerk sauce slathered on top, or carrying cups of soft-serve to the bar for topping off with rum creme.

I think that they should alternate the pictures and use actual guests as the models. Real couples doing real things. And with different age groups too.

There is really no reason to continue with this redundant thread. Island Girl has already been addressed this in another thread

Please note below response per our Brand Marketing Manager:

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out! We too agree that the models do not properly depict our demographic. Therefore, we have just finished a 16 day photo shoot at all 4 properties featuring 16 models. We have focused on showing various ages, not just 20 somethings and have also featured multiple ethnicities. We wish to show a more accurate type of clientele and are thrilled to share with you all. Our new imagery will be up in the next two months or so. Stay posted!"

I wholeheartedly agree with everyone above!

However, bad news: we were at CSS and CTI a couple of weeks ago when they were shooting video and photos for their new promotional material... and, the models we saw at both were even less diverse than what they have on the website currently.

Let me elaborate: there was a younger couple and an 'older' couple... all four of them Caucasian, all four small sized, both couples were heterosexual. The 'older' couple looked to be in their 50s or early 60s... no sagging, minimal wrinkles, etc. The woman of the younger couple was sickly skinny. So much so that both my husband and I were bothered by it. She did not look healthy.

I say this all not to make waves and create an issue but with the hopes that the sentiment is forwarded on to marketing and management. It is something that left a REALLY bad taste in our mouths and we expressed a lot of disappointment in the Couples brand. All of this while other companies are using 'real' bodies in ad campaigns and are trying to be more authentic... and here Couples is, looking even more fake and less diverse than ever. Boo.

We were told that they update their promotional material every two years, and because they are done shooting for this round, we'll likely have to wait until
2017 to see any improvement, if at all.

I think what Couples is doing is called "Advertising." Next time you see a Cialis commercial pay attention to the men. All in their early to mid forties, full head of hair, and look like they could run a marathon or go five sets with Roger Federer. Not to mention gorgeous wives. Are these really the guys that use Cialis? And, based on television ads, it seems that most of the people that suffer from constipation are beautiful women in their 30s. And maybe I'm in the minority, but I have seen many young, Caucasian, heterosexual couples at CN over the years.

The resort photographers must have at least 500 photos of us by now. We call them "kissy kissy" photos. Just pick a few out.
