    Default Club Mobay

    Hello!!
We are getting married on Saturday and headed to Jamaica for the first time next Wednesday, we are super excited! We want to make this the most relaxing vacation and I have been reading about Club Mobay. I know we have the complimentary shuttle from the airport to the resort but I've read that you can avoud the hour customs line and only wait about 20 minutes if you do Club Mobay. But I don't want to be shuttled off and have the resort pick up not be able to find us or if it's not so bad do we really need it? Outgoing what do you think? Thanks everyone!

You should be fine without it on Wed. The club Mobay lounge is next door to the Couples lounge. You have to check in with Couples then just tell them you will be in Club mobay. They will come and get you. rest easy you will not be left behind! Congrats on your wedding! The arrival service for Club mobay is 50.00

Arrival was a waste for us. Lounge is literally right next to the Couples lounge.

The airport was empty when we arrived. Departure was a better value. We got right through and had more time to shop and the departure lounge was great. TV's everywhere (good to watch news and plug back in) and good wifi. The food is pretty good as well.

    Just my two cents.

What do you think about an arrival of 11:30 on Saturday? I'm thinking Mobay may be worth it...

If you are looking to be pampered, Club Mobay is not a bad option. However, it probably won't save you a lot of time in line since you are arriving on a Wednesday. If you do book it, just check in with the Couples Lounge and then you can hang out at the Couples lounge or next door at the Club Mobay lounge. The Club Mobay lounge has rum punch and small sandwiches, which is nice if you are hungry. The Couples lounge only has beer, water, and soda.

No need for it arriving on a Wednesday. In our 5 trips to Jamaica, we have always arrived on a Weekday, and never waited longer than 15 minutes in customs. Save your money.

We get in on Saturday's around the same time as you from Philly. We always use it. I have seen the line for customs up the ramp. By using it we are at the couples lounge between 10-15 minutes from the time we get off the plane.

We have used the departure before but this will be our first time using it both coming & going. When we arrive 4 other planes arrive within 15 minutes of each other so we chose to pay for it. I suggest seeing what other planes are arriving when you are. We arrive on a Wednesday also and leave on a Saturday. Club MoBay is pretty luxurious!

It seems the biggest variable in determining when the Club Mobay arrival service is worthwhile or not is the day and time of your arrival, which will make a difference in the amount of people who have arrived before you. I've copied the daily arrival schedule for the past week and see there are some times each day when there probably wouldn't be a lot of people in line for customs, but other times when several aircraft arrive all at once. If people post the date and time they arrived or even just the flight number as well as what the line was like or how long they waited between landing and arrival at the Couples lounge then I could look at my data and reply with how many aircraft arrived in the hour previous to theirs. That would let you see how your experience may be if you arrive at the same time or with the same number of arrivals. I know I've went back and forth on whether to do Club Mobay or not and still undecided. Would like to know if anyone has come in on the Charlotte US Air Flight 826 landing daily at 1:27, what day of the week it was, and what your experience was like. Post those arrivals and wait times here and I'll reply with how many flights are currently landing in the hour prior to yours. That will really help us all out in deciding if Club Mobay arrival is worth the extra $100.00 or not.

What about a 1:00pm arrival on a thursday?

We arrived this past January on a Saturday for the first time (we had previously arrived on other days of the week). Because I wasn't sure how the lines would be, I ordered Club Mobay for both arrival and departure services. Our flight got in around noon. I think the Club Mobay lines were longer than the regular lines, so it did not save us any time in that regard. However, the question I asked myself before ordering was, "would I be more upset to pay for Club Mobay and not need it, or to not pay for Club Mobay and need it?" For me, it gave me peace of mind knowing that I would not be stuck in a horrible line on a Saturday.

Thanks everyone, that was helpful! Since it is a weekday we will probably skip it for arrivals and only do it for departures. Woodbridgeata...we will see you there!!! It really depends on the time you arrive, not the day. We have always arrived on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday around 12:45 pm, along with about 4-5 other planes. We are getting Club Mobay this year because I suck at standing in line for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Priceview, our flight in is on Thursday, Aug. 21st at 1:27 from Charlotte. In the past 3 weeks the schedule has been consistent with 9 planes, counting ours landing in the hour prior to ours, from 12:35 to 1:27pm. For your 1:00 arrival, there's one landing at 11:40, more than an hour before yours, and then three coming in at 12:35, one at 12:56 and one at 1:05. Looks like you'd only have five flights to contend with unless the two coming in at 1:15 and 1:17 come in early. That's been the same in the last three weeks as well except today the 11:40 ran an hour late, so today those landing around 1:00 had 6 planes in the hour up to their arrival. I don't know yet how many arrivals it takes in an hour to make the cost of Mobay worth it. We're going to be there for 10 days, so I might not want to spend $100 just to save an hour in line. Still undecided though. That could be a two hour wait with 9 planes stacked up, but need to hear from others who've come in around that same time.

We arrive on a Sunday at 2:40pm from Atlanta. It looks like there are 5 flights coming in within 30 mins and 9 flights within an hour. Last time we arrived on a Saturday and the line was up the ramp. I thought Sunday travel might be lighter but 9 flights seems like a lot. We are leaning toward doing MoBay. Anybody else arrive on a Sunday early afternoon lately?
It does concern me that someone mentioned the Club MoBay line was longer for their arrival... Maybe the regular immigration line was really short that day?

    djdadof4,

There are 7 flights landing between 12:05 and 1:05, with four landing between 12:05 and 12:40, and three landing between 12:50 and 1:00. Sometimes they arrive a little early or late, so be aware there are another three scheduled to land between 1:10 and 1:17 which could arrive early, or if your flight is late you'd be in line with them, but maybe most of those arriving before 12:30 will be gone so being late may not make much difference. That flight schedule doesn't seem to change much but arrivals may vary by 5 min or so.

We've decided to book the Mobay Arrival service just for peace of mind. If nothing else, we can grab a snack and something stronger than the beer or soda that the Couples lounge offers.

We used it coming back. It was well worth it! Had 9 couples coming back and were an extra hour early...booo. This was yesterday. We arrived at 10:30 and didn't have to leave till 1:30 and have priority boarding, as well. This was coming back to H-town. But hubby surprised me w/ Club Mobay. I thought it was worth it! Now, if we could get to the Tim Air step

We used it for arrival and my husband had been complaining about the extra money until he saw the line! We came in Saturday about 11:50 and heard the line only got worse. We were through quickly and caught a shuttle not even 10 minutes after we signed in at the couples lounge... Mobay filled our big mugs with rum punch for the ride and we were off! We also had it on the return, I will never travel any other way and the hubcap agrees Just do it

We did the club mobay arrival/departure package back in April for a saturday to saturday stay. We didn't want to spend the money BUT afterwards said we would never not get the Club Mobay VIP again. It was great just to be met coming off the plane and escorted through the airport by your personal escort who guided you through special immigration and customs lines. The Mobay arrival lounge is right next door to the Couples lounge so no problem with the shuttle etc. We actually checked in at Couples and went back to the Mobay lounge. The bathroom was a little nicer, the attendant offered cold towels, beer and snacks.

The departure lounge was more crowded but offered more food and beverage choices, tv's, services, etc. For the $80 pp package we think its worth it regardless of when you arrive. I guess i shouldn't sell it so much; I don't want it to get too popular, hard to get a reservation, and the price go up...
