Staff Spotlight: Bryan Angus

Hi Couples family,

When I often ask guests their main reason for returning to Couples Resorts, the unanimous response is usually very simple: "The Staff"

As a part of our ongoing staff spotlight series on the blog, we love to highlight one of the many stars of Couples Resorts. With four resorts and hundreds of staff to select, this month we will highlight the very talented bartender from Couples Sans Souci, Bryan Angus.

Bryan is a very ambitious young man who has been employed at CSS for over 2 years. Originally from White Hall St. Mary, Bryan is married and is most recently the proud father of a bouncing baby boy named Kalyan.

Aside from being busy with work and family, Bryan describes his hobbies as graphic design and "flair bartending"- the practice of bartenders entertaining guests or audiences with the manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor bottles in tricky, dazzling ways.

When asked what he liked most about his job, he replied “the environment and management team which has allowed me to be able to freely converse with guests even while working”. Some of Bryan’s most memorable experiences are from the Culinary Competitions held each year where he is able to prove himself at the competition level. Bryan was the only bartender who entered the competition and left with a medal in most categories especially in the 2014 competition.

A few weeks ago the Couples Resorts Staff Awards were held and Brain received two - General Manager's Award and he was also the top mentioned staff on Guest Questionnaire for 2014!

This talented young man aspires to be a master blender - an individual who decides on the composition of blended spirits, and he recently entered a Hennessy competition in Kingston where he placed 1st in the regional competition for Ocho Rios and 3rd in the overall finals!

He was even so kind as to share with us the signature drink that was featured so you to try yourself at home. ENJOY!
